Amalee Meehan is an Assistant Professor of Religious Education at the Institute of Education, Dublin City University (DCU). She holds dual affiliations with the School of Human Development and serves as an Associate Researcher at the National Anti-Bullying Research and Resource Centre (ABC) and the Mater Dei Centre for Catholic Education (MDCCE). Her roles include teaching on the Bachelor of Religious Education (BRelEd) program and guest lecturing in doctoral and interfaith initiatives.
Her research focuses on religious education, Catholic school ethos, bullying prevention, and migrant integration. She co-led the EU-funded TRIBES project on migration and bullying and currently leads the ORBIT project on religious identity and wellbeing. Meehan established a doctoral student community at MDCCE's 'The Well' space, fostering collaborative research in Catholic education.
Publications span theology, education policy, and inclusive pedagogy, with recent work emphasizing school ethos, migrant inclusion, and teacher preparedness. She actively participates in global conferences and has authored/co-authored textbooks for US Catholic schools and policy reports on Catholic education governance.
