Dr. Amal Sethi is a Lecturer at the Leicester Law School, University of Leicester, where he teaches Constitutional and Administrative Law, Canadian Constitutional Law, and the European Convention on Human Rights. He concurrently serves as Deputy Secretary General of the International Society of Public Law (ICON-S), co-chairing its constitution-making interest group and contributing to its Committee on Community and Engagement. Previously, he led ICON-S's Technology Directorate (2021-2024) and conducted a German Government-funded research project at the University of Hamburg (2021-2024). His academic career includes affiliations with the University of Pennsylvania, Harvard University, and others.
Education:
- Doctorate and Master's from the University of Pennsylvania (Salzburg Cutler Law Fellow)
- Bachelor's from Government Law College, Mumbai (awarded Best Student Award and Nivedita Nathany Award)
Research Interests: Focuses on comparative and interdisciplinary public law studies, legal theory, empirical legal analysis, European law, and international law. His work bridges theoretical and applied dimensions of constitutional governance.
Consulting & Grants: Collaborated with USAID, UNESCO, UNDP, and others. Led a BMBF-funded German research initiative on public law innovation.
