Dr Amal Chakraborty is a Research Fellow at the University Centre for Rural Health within the University of Sydney's Faculty of Medicine and Health. With over 18 years of experience in public health research, he specializes in Indigenous health, health systems strengthening, and socio-environmental determinants of health. He holds a PhD in Public Health and leads major research initiatives including the MRFF-funded VOICE PREM development project focused on co-developing patient-reported experience measures with Aboriginal communities.
Research Interests:
His work spans health equity, rural health development, integrated knowledge translation, and spatial epidemiology. Key focus areas include addressing social determinants of Indigenous health through participatory research and community engagement.
