Alvin J. Primack is a Teaching Professor and Associate Director of the William Pitt Debating Union at the University of Pittsburgh. He holds a PhD in Communication (2022) and an MA in Communication Studies (2016) from California State University, Long Beach.
His research focuses on rhetorical criticism, media studies, and childhood studies, with a particular emphasis on the intersections of law, psychoanalysis, and queer theory. Notable works include analyses of obscenity doctrine, federal Indian law, and cyberbullying within digital spaces.
Primack has presented at multiple academic conferences, including the National Communication Association and the Department of Communication’s Summer Research Fellows program. His work spans topics like disability rhetorics in film and universal design in online education.
