Alstan Jakubiec

Alstan Jakubiec is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, affiliated with the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design, and the School of the Environment. His work focuses on data-driven design processes for creating comfortable, energy-efficient built environments.

• Education: BA in Architecture (Georgia Tech), MA in Architecture (University of Pennsylvania), PhD in Building Technology (MIT)

His research emphasizes sustainable building and urban design, integrating human comfort, performance simulation, and low-energy strategies. He co-developed the DIVA tool for daylighting and energy analysis in architecture.

Prior to his current role, Jakubiec taught sustainable design at Singapore University of Technology and Design and co-founded Mapdwell, a renewable energy startup analyzing rooftop solar potential.
