Alon Tal is a Professor and Chairperson in the Department of Public Policy at Tel Aviv University, with visiting appointments at institutions including Stanford and Otago Universities. His career combines academia with advocacy, serving in Israel's Knesset (2021–2022) and founding environmental organizations like Adam Teva V’Din. He has held leadership roles in environmental policy, including forestry oversight at Keren Kayemeth L’Yisrael and co-chairing Zafuf (Forum for Population, Environment & Society).
