Dr. Allissa V. Richardson is an Associate Professor of Journalism and Communication at the University of Southern California's Annenberg School, where she also directs the Charlotta Bass Journalism and Justice Lab. Her research examines how marginalized communities—particularly African Americans—leverage mobile/social media for crisis journalism and protest communication, notably during the Black Lives Matter movement.
