Allison Magnuson is an Associate Professor at the University of Rochester Medical Center in the Department of Medicine, Hematology/Oncology. As a geriatric oncologist, she specializes in cancer treatment for older adults and breast cancer.
Her research focuses on geriatric assessment, cancer-related cognitive impairment, and chemotherapy toxicity in elderly patients. She leads studies on telehealth implementation, rural cancer care disparities, and functional decline during treatment.
Recent publications address same-day discharge protocols, patient-clinician toxicity reporting discrepancies, and cognitive screening tools for older oncology patients. Her work appears in journals like Annals of Surgical Oncology, Journal of Geriatric Oncology, and Cancer.
