Allison Geremia

Dr. Allison Geremia is Professor of Art History at Savannah College of Art and Design. She holds a Ph.D. in Art from the University of Plymouth, M.A. in History of Decorative Arts and Design from The New School, and B.F.A./B.A. from University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Her professional experience includes academic coordination at Transart Institute and teaching positions at multiple institutions.

Research focuses on contemporary jewelry practices, material culture, and photographic documentation methodologies. Her work examines reflexive relationships between maker, object, and viewer in creative practices, with particular emphasis on jewelry as artistic medium.

Publications demonstrate strong interdisciplinary approach bridging art history, craft studies, and material culture. Recent scholarship examines historical collection practices and material reinterpretations in decorative arts.

Dr. Geremia actively presents at international conferences including College Arts Association and contributes to academic journals like Metalsmith and JAWS Journal. She serves on the advisory board of Transart Institute for Creative Practice.
