Allison Chu

Dr. Allison Chu is an Associate Professor of Clinical Occupational Therapy at the University of Southern California’s Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy (USC Chan). With over 25 years of clinical experience, she specializes in stroke rehabilitation, neurological conditions, and Lifestyle Redesign® interventions. She holds advanced certifications in Physical Agent Modalities and Neuro-IFRAH.

Dr. Chu earned her BS, MA, and OTD in Occupational Therapy from USC. Her clinical career includes roles at the Pediatric Therapy Network and the Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center, where she developed innovative programs such as the Live Your Best Life Lifestyle Redesign® intervention for stroke survivors. She has served as a mentor, lecturer, and clinical instructor, contributing to USC Chan’s academic and clinical training.

Her research focuses on occupational therapy’s impact on post-stroke recovery, as evidenced by her 2023 meta-analysis on intervention efficacy. She remains active in clinical education and program development, emphasizing evidence-based practice in neurological rehabilitation.
