Allison Carey is a Professor and Chair of the Department of English at Marshall University, serving as Coordinator of Undergraduate Programs and a da Vinci Faculty Fellow in the Honors College.
Education:

Research Interests: Dr. Carey's work focuses on English Education, Modernism, Film, Critical Theory, New Media, Young Adult Literature, and Technology in Education. Her scholarship examines intersections between literary studies, film, and pedagogical innovation, particularly in teaching methods for grades 5-adult and digital learning environments.

Professional Service: As English education Program Reviewer for NCTE/NCATE, she evaluates national teacher preparation standards. She coordinates undergraduate programs while teaching interdisciplinary Honors College seminars including 'Domesticity and Modernism' and 'Dime Novels, God, and Indians'.
Academic Leadership: Dr. Carey directs the English Department's undergraduate curriculum and contributes to Honors College programming through her da Vinci Fellowship, developing seminars that bridge literary theory and civic engagement.
