Dr. Allen Keller is an Associate Professor of Medicine at New York University School of Medicine, serving as Director of the Bellevue/NYU Program for Survivors of Torture (PSOT) and Director of the NYU School of Medicine Center for Health and Human Rights. He is an internationally recognized expert in documenting, evaluating, and treating victims of torture and human rights abuses.
Education: M.D. from New York University.
Research interests focus on health and human rights, including medical ethics, consequences of landmines, healthcare access for prisoners, and global health advocacy. He teaches a Health and Human Rights seminar at Princeton University and serves on the Advisory Board of Physicians for Human Rights.
Awards include the Barbara Chester Award, Eclipse Award, Arthur C. Helton Human Rights Award, and NYU's Distinguished Alumnus Award.
His work spans clinical practice, research, and policy advocacy, with over 15 years of leadership in human rights-focused healthcare initiatives.
