Allan Pero is an Associate Professor in the Department of English and Writing Studies at Western University, and Editor of English Studies in Canada. He holds a PhD in English from the University of Toronto (2001), with earlier degrees from the University of Ottawa. His research focuses on Modern British, Irish, and American Literature, Drama, Psychoanalysis, and Cultural Theory, particularly exploring Camp aesthetics in modernist contexts. He is currently working on An Encyclopedia of Cultural Theory (U Toronto Press) and a critical edition of Wyndham Lewis's The Childermass (Oxford UP).

Recent Work: Recent projects include articles on Denton Welch’s In Youth Is Pleasure (2023), necropolitan aesthetics in Baki László’s Tarr (2018), and a Modernism/modernity essay on camp allegory (2022). His 2013 teaching award recognizes innovative pedagogy in humanities education.
Professional Roles: Editorial board member of English Studies in Canada, contributor to Routledge and Bloomsbury academic presses, and frequent speaker on modernist literature and psychoanalytic theory.
