Allan Havis

Allan Havis is a distinguished playwright, author, and Professor in the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of California, San Diego. He serves as Faculty Director for UCSD’s Jewish Studies Program and previously held the role of Provost at Marshall College from 2006 to 2016. His work spans theatre, opera, fiction, and film criticism, with a strong focus on political and social themes.

Research and Creative Interests: Havis's work centers on playwriting, American political theatre, libretto development, and film analysis. He explores identity, power, and cultural narratives through dramatic forms.
