Jourdan Laine Howell is an Associate Professor of Instruction in Voice & Lyric Theatre at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), where she has directed ten operatic productions since 2020, including U.S. and Texas premieres of works by contemporary composers. She specializes in staging new and underrepresented operas, with a focus on diverse casts and languages, and has led groundbreaking accessibility initiatives such as the ANIMA program and sensory-friendly performances.
