Allan Dumbreck

Allan Dumbreck is a Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader at the University of the West of Scotland (UWS), overseeing the BA (Hons) Commercial Music undergraduate programme and contributing to MA Music programmes. He has over 20 years of international experience in music education and entrepreneurship, focusing on topics like royalty income streams and European music industries. His expertise spans music project management, creative industries, and synthesiser development.

Research Interests:

• Music entrepreneurship and its academic frameworks
• Artist management dynamics in music industries
• Music education systems in France, Germany, and the Netherlands

Publications: Co-authored Music Entrepreneurship (2015) and is finalizing a second book on artist management with John Williamson. His work addresses gaps in academic analysis of music management psychology and strategies.

External Roles: Served as External Examiner at the University of Westminster (2016–2020).
