Alla Epsteyn is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Russian and Russian Area Studies at Wellesley College, where she has been teaching since 1998. She serves as the Program Director for the Wintersession in Moscow initiative.

Her pedagogical approach emphasizes teaching Russian language through cultural immersion. She offers Advanced Topics courses on:

In 2008, she pioneered Wellesley's first Russian language study abroad program at Moscow State University for the Humanities. She teaches Elementary Russian II (RUSS102), Intermediate Russian II (RUSS202), and Advanced Russian II: Russian Comedy Blockbusters (RUSS306), with a focus on idiomatic language use and cultural analysis.
