Aliza M. Milner serves as a Teaching Professor and Director of Legal Communication and Research at Syracuse University, teaching civil procedure and legal writing with research focused on legal process, writing, and the cognition of learning.
Her educational background includes a J.D. with honors from George Washington University Law School (1998) and a B.S. from Cornell University (1995).
Professor Milner's research interests are:

Prior to academia, she clerked for Maryland appellate judges Andrew L. Sonner, Alan M. Wilner, and Patrick L. Woodward, and served as Assistant Legal Counsel to Governor Parris N. Glendenning. She currently acts as Lead Editor for Legal Communication & Rhetoric: JALWD.
As Director of Legal Communication and Research, she oversees programs developing legal writing and research competencies within the law school curriculum.
