Alistair Bowden

Alistair Bowden is a Lecturer at Northumbria University, leading the taught element of the Senior Leader Higher Apprenticeship (MBA) and teaching strategy modules for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeships. His research focuses on strategy practice as an emergent process in everyday interactions, public sector governance, and cross-sector partnerships. He holds a PhD (2018), MBA (2005), and prior degrees in geology and palaeontology.

Recent work explores how public sector roles evolve in place-based partnerships and the application of temporal theory to organizational change. He supervises PhD candidates in areas such as public sector burnout and the historical geography of wine production.
