Her research focuses on feminist and gender theory in performance, psychophysical performer training, female stars in classical Hollywood cinema, and the documentation of live and onscreen performance. Influenced by Phillip Zarrilli’s and Sandra Reeve’s somatic practices, her work bridges embodied training, gender studies, and archival research.
The recent publications and conference presentations reveal a strong thematic focus on female agency in countercultural and Hollywood cinema, particularly through the lens of the Peter Whitehead Archive. Her work explores pleasure, generosity, and resistance in performance, often highlighting overlooked female collaborators and performers.

- Vice-Chancellor’s Future Research Leaders’ Programme (2014)
She supervises multiple PhD students in performance, gender, and film studies and has led funded research projects, including archival training in Los Angeles and impact initiatives tied to the Peter Whitehead Archive.
