Alison White is a part-time Personal Tutor and Partnership tutor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge. She supports trainees through academic research guidance, teaching observations, and pastoral care. With 35 years of primary teaching experience, her expertise spans RE, PSHE, and Equality, Diversity, and Inclusive Education (EDI). She currently tutors children in Years 4/5 and leads historical education programs at Burghley House, focusing on Elizabethan and Victorian periods. Her roles include mentoring staff and fostering community links through school initiatives like interfaith visits and assemblies.
Qualifications include a BEd (Hons) in History and Education from Cambridge. Professional membership includes the National Education Union (NEU). Her work extends beyond academia, such as advising Nene Valley Fostering Agency and supporting Cambridgeshire schools as an educational consultant.
Research interests emphasize EDI, British Values, and empathy development in children through religious/cultural studies. She has contributed to curricular reforms, including the 2013 Peterborough Religious Education Syllabus, and developed school-wide programs integrating community engagement and heritage appreciation.
