Alison Schurman

Alison Schurman, DNP, CPNP, NP-C, PMHS, SANE-A, is a Navy Lieutenant Commander and Medical Educator affiliated with the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics. She serves at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, CA, focusing on developmental and complex care pediatrics, education, and military family health initiatives.

• Education: BSN from University of Pittsburgh (2007), DNP in Pediatric and Family Nurse Practitioner from University of San Diego Hahn School of Nursing (2017), and KYSS Pediatric Mental Health Fellowship from University of Ohio School of Nursing (2020)

Her work spans military healthcare settings, including National Navy Medical Center Bethesda, Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune, and Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton. She specializes in improving care for medically fragile children and respite programs for military families globally.

LCDR Schurman has contributed to two publications and two poster presentations, focusing on interdisciplinary pediatric care and military healthcare systems. Her research extends to credentialing innovations for pediatric nurse practitioners in underserved regions.
