Alison Parker is an Assistant Teaching Professor at the Peter B. Gustavson School of Business, University of Victoria. She joined full-time in July 2022, previously teaching at Camosun College and UVic. Her expertise spans accounting, international finance standards, and educational materials development for CPA-BC. She holds a BA from Carleton University and an MEd from Simon Fraser University, alongside CPA and CMA designations.
Her research focuses on the historical evolution of Canadian financial reporting standards (2007–2011), emphasizing transitions to international standards. Alison has extensive experience in payroll, audit, and governance roles with the Canadian Forces, non-profits, and Canada Revenue Agency. She advocates for accounting as a core business literacy tool.
Alison collaborates with CPA-BC as a technical consultant, authoring and reviewing educational content. Her teaching spans financial accounting theory, with a focus on preparing students for professional designations.
