Dr Alison Oliver is a researcher at the University of Oxford, affiliated with the Voltaire Foundation. She holds a PhD in French literature and specializes in 18th-century literary scholarship, particularly novels. Her career spans academic research, editorial work, and digital humanities projects.
- Education: MA(Hons) in Modern History and Modern Languages, MSt and DPhil in French literature (University of Oxford)
Oliver has worked in business-to-business book publishing at The Stationery Office, Thomson, and Wolters Kluwer (UK). She currently leads efforts to digitize the 205-volume Complete Works of Voltaire and develop a born-digital edition of d’Holbach’s complete works. Her research bridges literary analysis, textual editing, and digital transformation of historical archives.
