معرفی
Alison Etheridge is a Professor of Probability at the University of Oxford and a Fellow by Special Election at Magdalen College. Her research focuses on the interface between probability and mathematical models in population genetics, including stochastic processes and their applications in spatially structured populations. She holds significant academic titles such as Fellow of the Royal Society (FRS), DBE, and OBE.
Her academic journey includes roles such as EPSRC Advanced Fellow (1999–2005), University Lecturer in Applied Mathematics (1997–2012), and Reader in Probability and Statistics (1996–1997). She has advised graduate students including Kimberley Becker, Terence Tsui, and others. Her work bridges probability theory with evolutionary biology, particularly in understanding genealogies and dynamics in spatial populations.
Etheridge’s research has been recognized through awards like the 2020 Feldman Prize. She is affiliated with research groups in Probability and Statistical Genetics and Epidemiology. Her lab and team contribute to advancing theoretical frameworks for analyzing genetic data and evolutionary processes.
