Alison Alborz

Alison Alborz is a Senior Lecturer and Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the Manchester Institute of Education (MIE), The University of Manchester. She holds a PhD in Psychology (2001) and a BA (Hons) in Psychology (1984). Her work focuses on quality of life theorisation, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and inclusive education. She has contributed to global projects, including studies on education systems in post-war Iraq and healthcare access for people with disabilities in the UK.

Her research explores how adult education and policy interventions can enhance mental health and wellbeing, particularly for marginalized groups. Key areas include:
