Alicia Melnick is a Practicum Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh's School of Social Work. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Social Work (DSW) at Walden University and serves as a Field Instructor, supervising social work students in clinical settings. Ms. Melnick also holds an active clinical social work license in Pennsylvania and is actively involved in professional organizations, chairing the Social Workers in Aging Practice (SWAP) council.
- BA in Psychology with minors in Sociology and Theater, Mount Union College
- MSW and Certificate in Gerontology, University of Pittsburgh

Her research interests focus on geriatric mental health, crisis intervention, and community engagement, with a strong emphasis on social work education and equity in higher education. She has developed internal crisis management teams in clinical settings and works clinically in ICU environments.
Ms. Melnick contributes to academic and field training through roles such as Program Administrator for the Community Engagement Fellowship and Field Coordinator for the Behavioral Health Scholars Program (BHSP). She advises students from both DP and COSA tracks.
