Alicia Boutilier is Chief Curator/Curator of Canadian Historical Art at the Agnes Etherington Art Centre and an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Art History and Conservation at Queen's University. She specializes in Canadian historical art and visual culture, with a strong focus on women artists, regional art scenes, and interdisciplinary intersections of art and craft.
Her research explores artistic collectives, historical collecting practices, and marginalized narratives in Canadian art. She has curated landmark exhibitions such as The Artist Herself: Self-Portraits by Canadian Historical Women Artists and A Vital Force: The Canadian Group of Painters, the latter earning her the OAAG Curatorial Writing Award.
