Alice Pate is a Professor and Department Chair at Kennesaw State University since 2011, following her tenure as Chair of the Department of History and Geography at Columbus State University (2004–2011). She holds a Ph.D. in History from Ohio State University (Columbus, OH), and M.A. and B.A. degrees in History from Auburn University (AL).
Her research focuses on late imperial Russian labor history, political theory, and intellectual history. She is currently completing a book manuscript titled Russian Workers from Peter the Great to Putin under contract with Bloomsbury Academic. Notable publications include Workers and Unity: A Study of Social Democracy (2015) and articles examining labor movements, revolutionary politics, and worker identity in imperial Russia.
Dr. Pate actively engages with professional organizations such as the Association for the Study of East European and Eurasian Studies and participates in the Study Group on the Russian Revolution. Her work bridges intellectual history with social movements, emphasizing the intersection of labor, ideology, and political transformation in Russian history.
