Alice PIRLOT

Alice PIRLOT holds the position of Assistant Professor in International Law at the Geneva Graduate Institute, with a secondary appointment as Faculty Associate at the Centre for Finance and Development. She specializes in the intersection of tax law, environmental law, EU law, and international trade law.

• Education: PhD from Université Catholique de Louvain (Louvain University)

Her research focuses on climate change mitigation strategies, particularly carbon border adjustment measures, sustainable development goals (SDGs), and the regulatory interactions between tax policies and environmental protection. Current projects examine the internationalization of carbon taxation systems and their implications for global justice and legal frameworks.

Geographical expertise spans Western/Eastern Europe, the United Kingdom, and Belgium. Her work addresses critical questions about regime interactions in international law and the evolving role of tax law in addressing global challenges.
