Alice Millar is a researcher at the Center for Anthropological Research on Museums and Heritage (CARMAH) at Humboldt University of Berlin. She is affiliated with the Challenging Populist Truth-Making in Europe (CHAPTER) project, focusing on digital solutions to political challenges in museums. Her work examines the intersection of British museums and populism, addressing themes of truth-making, fake news, and institutional authority.
- Education: Master's dissertation titled 'Sonic systems of knowledge: an ethnographic study of the use and value of sound in museums'.
Her research interests span digital anthropology, sensory studies, and the role of museums in contemporary socio-political contexts. Since 2021, she has conducted ethnographic fieldwork with the Migration Museum and Museum of London. Millar combines theoretical frameworks with practical museum experience, having worked and volunteered across U.K. cultural institutions.
She contributes to CARMAH's broader initiatives, including the TRACES and Mindscapes projects, and engages in public outreach through museum collaborations and academic events.
