Alice Cazzola is a Research Fellow at the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz (Max Planck Society) under the 2024-2027 Landesgraduiertenförderung Baden-Württemberg PreDoc program. Her work focuses on Max Liebermann’s transcultural mobility, artistic production, and reception in Italy, bridging historical research with contemporary debates on provenance and cultural politics.

Research Focus
Her research intersects with themes of art forgery, Nazi-looted cultural property, and the cultural-political dynamics of 19th-20th century German and French art. She actively contributes to provenance research through her involvement in the Arbeitskreis Provenienzforschung e.V. Working Group Italy.
