Alican Çamci is the J. Donald Feagin Assistant Professor of Music and Assistant Professor of Film Studies at The University of Tulsa, affiliated with the Kendall College of Arts & Sciences. His creative and academic work bridges music composition, electronic arts, and sound design for film and media.
His educational background includes a Ph.D. in Music Composition from the University of Chicago and both a Bachelor of Music and Master of Music from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University.
Çamci's research and artistic practice focus on experimental and electronic music, with deep engagement in sound as a documentary medium. His interests include improvisation, sampling, creative coding, algorithmic composition, genre studies, and field recording. He explores the intersection of instrumental and electronic sound with recorded speech and environmental audio.
His concert works have been performed by leading contemporary ensembles such as Ensemble Dal Niente, Ensemble Intercontemporain, International Contemporary Ensemble, Le Nouvel Ensemble Moderne, Oerknal!, Talea Ensemble, and Switch~ Ensemble. His sound design and film music have been featured at international festivals including the Venice Film Festival, SXSW, Warsaw Film Festival, IDFA, IFFR, Antalya Film Festival, and Istanbul Film Festival.

Çamci joined The University of Tulsa after serving as a Visiting Assistant Professor of composition and electronic music at Carleton College. He is actively contributing to the academic and artistic communities through performance, exhibition, and pedagogy.
