Ali Öztürk is an Associate Professor at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University's Faculty of Medicine, specializing in the Department of Medical Microbiology. He holds a Doctorate from Gazi University (2010–2016) and a Master's from the same institution (2008–2010), with a Bachelor's in Biology from the University of Baghdad (2001–2006). His research centers on antimicrobial resistance, antifungal agents, biofilm disruption, and diagnostic methods in clinical microbiology.
Öztürk's work includes significant projects such as the characterization of carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii and the efficacy of antimicrobial photodynamic therapy. He leads the 'Multicenter Türkiye Saprochaete Study' and collaborates on EU-funded initiatives like BIOHYPO. He advises PhD candidate DHUHA FOUAD ALI AL SAMMARRAIE and has secured grants from TÜBİTAK and Higher Education Institutions.
His recent publications (2021–2025) focus on antifungal compounds, disinfectant efficacy, and COVID-19 diagnostics, reflecting expertise in molecular microbiology and medicinal chemistry.
