Ali Fuad Selvi is an Assistant Professor of TESOL and Applied Linguistics at the University of Alabama's Department of English. He holds a PhD from the University of Maryland and an MA from Middle East Technical University. His research focuses on critical applied linguistics, Global Englishes, and equity in TESOL, with emphasis on English-medium instruction (EMI) and platformized ELT ecosystems. He has authored/co-authored multiple books including The Routledge Handbook of Teaching English as an International Language and serves on editorial boards for journals like TESOL Quarterly. Recognized as one of TESOL International Association’s 30 Up and Coming Leaders, his work bridges theory and practice in multilingual leadership and critical teacher education. His research spans sociolinguistic analyses of language policies, global ELT professionalization, and digital pedagogy innovations.
