Alexia Barrable

Dr. Alexia Barrable is a Lecturer in the Psychology, Sociology and Education Division at Queen Margaret University. She holds affiliations with the General Teaching Council Scotland, is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (Advanced HE), and serves as an advisor to the Ernest Cook Trust's Everything Outdoors Committee. Her research specializes in nature connection, outdoor learning, and psychological development across the lifespan.

Her work explores nature attachment theory, autonomy in outdoor settings, and interventions for mental wellbeing. Key themes include the impact of childhood nature experiences on adult psychology, educational affordances of coastal environments, and meta-analyses of nature's role in child wellbeing.
