Alexei Degterev is an Associate Professor at Tufts University School of Medicine in the Department of Developmental, Molecular and Chemical Biology. His research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of regulated cell death, particularly necroptosis and apoptosis, and their roles in human disease pathologies including cancer, inflammatory diseases, and neurodegeneration. He develops chemical probes and drug leads targeting RIPK1/3 kinases to modulate cell death processes.
