Dr. Alexandra Ross is a Lecturer in Contemporary Art and Curation at the University of Glasgow, co-convening the M.Litt in Curatorial Practice at the Glasgow School of Art. She holds a PhD in curatorial practice from the University of Dundee, focusing on conversational methods in curatorship. Her research explores intersectional feminist approaches, digital curation, immersive technologies, and the biennial phenomenon. She has held roles including Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Cape Town and Curatorial Fellow with ATLAS Arts.

Research Interests: Ross specializes in dialogical art practices, the artist’s voice, and the ethics of curatorial encounters. Her work bridges theory and practice through projects like the 'Polyphonic Essay' series, exploring collaborative methodologies. She investigates the interplay between analogue and digital mediums, sustainability in curation, and transversal curatorial approaches across global contexts.
Grants & Projects: Recipient of a £7,000 Global Challenges Research Grant (2017) supporting workshops at Fak'ugesi African Digital Innovation Festival. Ongoing projects include a 'Polyphonic Essay on Memory' and a publication on Dieter Roth’s work in Iceland.
Teaching & Supervision: Convenes the M.Litt Curatorial Practice program and supervises PhD topics such as digital curation, post-digital art ethics, and interdisciplinary curatorial practice. Recent advisees include John, Susan, Lawal Agoro, Christiana Myers, Olivia Sebastian, and Francesca Vale.
Collaborations: Works with artists, choreographers, and educators to explore curatorial boundaries. Collaborative projects include exhibitions at Manifesta 8, Venice Biennale, and Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art.
