Alexandra Morley is a Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy at the School of Health and Social Care, part of the College of Health, Wellbeing and Life Sciences at Sheffield Hallam University. She is HCPC registered and leads initiatives in Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) for students with disabilities. She oversees the MSc Specialist Physiotherapy Practice (distance learning and part-time) and collaborates on the University Advanced Professional Certificate in Dysphagia Assessment. Her roles include course development, student retention strategies, and partnerships with NHS for teaching and research.
Her research focuses on exercise resources for long-term conditions and neurological changes in spasticity. She holds an MSc in Physiotherapy Practice (Neurology) and has clinical experience in hospital and community settings. Notable projects include grants from the Physiotherapy Research Society (Traumatic Brain Injury studies) and the Multiple Sclerosis Society (spasticity research). She also pioneered integrating patient narratives into undergraduate education.
Her teaching spans modules like Advancing Neurological Physiotherapy and Postgraduate Dissertation. Recent work emphasizes resilience in early-year students and digital course delivery. She collaborates widely with NHS and academic partners to enhance healthcare education and research impact.
