Alexandra Mielke

Alexandra Mielke is a Research Associate in the Department of Computer Science and a PhD student with an ISF scholarship in the Department of Engineering and Communication at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg. She is affiliated with the Institute for Safety and Security Research (ISF). Her work focuses on 3D Time-of-Flight (ToF) camera technologies, particularly in facial biometric applications and super-resolution techniques.

Education: Completed her Master’s thesis in 2024 on 3D camera metrics for biometric systems. Current PhD research involves improving low-cost ToF camera performance.

Research projects include the Data-Based Super Resolution project for enhancing 3D facial biometric applications and the DKZ.2R initiative supporting interdisciplinary data literacy and high-performance computing. She collaborates on sensor performance evaluation and resilience modeling.

Labs/Teams: Active in the Institute for Safety and Security Research (ISF), contributing to cutting-edge 3D imaging solutions. Her work spans multiple disciplines including computer science, electrical engineering, and applied mathematics.
