Maximilian Schöbel

Maximilian Schöbel is a retired academic from the Department of Computer Science at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg (H-BRS), effective January 4, 2021. He currently serves as a Research Associate on the ROPOD project, which develops cost-effective automated guided vehicles (AGVs) for logistics that integrate seamlessly with existing warehouse infrastructure. His research focuses on recognition of human actions from videos using Computer Vision and Machine Learning, particularly in processing sequential data and employing weakly/unsupervised learning methods.

ROPOD’s objectives include enabling AGVs to handle diverse goods without requiring rebuilding warehouses or switching to new container technologies. Schöbel is affiliated with the Graduate Institute at H-BRS and is based in Sankt Augustin at Grantham-Allee 20. Despite retiring from full-time faculty duties, he continues contributing to robotics and AI applications in logistics through collaborative projects.
