Robert Lange

Prof. Dr. Robert Lange holds a Research Professorship and serves as Director of the Institute for Security Research (ISF) at the University of Bonn-Rhein-Sieg. He is also a Professorial Member of the Promotionskolleg NRW. His academic journey includes a diploma in electrical engineering from the University of Siegen (1996), a doctorate in engineering from the Swiss Centre for Electronics and Microtechnology (CSEM) and ETH Zurich (2000), and extensive industry experience with pmdtechnologies ag. He leads multiple research projects focusing on biometric systems, 3D time-of-flight cameras, and CBRN-E event response technologies. His work emphasizes optical sensor development, security applications, and photonic systems.

He also explores applications in vehicle classification and security technologies for critical infrastructures.
