Alexandra Durfee is an Assistant Professor specializing in speech-language pathology at Towson University. She holds a Ph.D. from The Ohio State University with clinical expertise in adult neurogenic communication disorders.
Her research investigates affective prosody impairments following right hemisphere stroke, examining lesion-behavior relationships and developing evidence-based assessment protocols. Durfee studies neural correlates of linguistic/pragmatic deficits and recovery patterns in acquired brain injury.
Recent work includes co-authoring clinical guidelines for discourse elicitation following right hemisphere damage and investigating virtual/anomia treatment efficacy. She serves as ad-hoc reviewer for multiple neuroscience and rehabilitation journals.
