Dr. Alexandra Bogren is an Associate Professor in Sociology at the Department of Social Sciences, Södertörn University. She conducts interdisciplinary research at the intersection of criminology, gender studies, and social inequality, focusing on camera surveillance in workplaces and alcohol-related sexual violence in nightlife.
- PhD in Sociology (2006), Stockholm University
- Visiting Researcher, Finnish National Institute of Public Health (THL) (2008)
Research Interests: Her work explores:
- Gendered dimensions of alcohol consumption and drug use
- Impact of camera surveillance on workplace safety and social interactions
- Medical sociology and biomedicine's role in society
- Social problems in urban environments
Current Projects:
- "Camera Surveillance and Violence: The Importance of Camera Surveillance Among Professional Groups Exposed to Violence" (funded by Forte)
- "Drunkenness, Sexual Harassment and Sexual Violence in Nightlife" (funded by the Crime Victims' Fund)
Teaching & Supervision: Instructs courses on "Working Life and Society" (HR program) and "Crime and Society" (police training). Supervises C-theses and advanced-level sociology theses.
