Alexandra Albuquerque

Alexandra Albuquerque serves as a Senior Lecturer in the Language Department at Porto Accounting and Business School (ISCAP-P.PORTO), part of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto. She coordinates ISCAP's International Office since 2004 and holds dual research appointments at CLUNL (Nova University of Lisbon) and CEOS.PP (ISCAP's Center for Social Studies).

Her academic foundation includes a PhD in Linguistics with specialization in Terminology. Professional leadership extends to presidency of APCOMTEC (Portuguese Association for Technical Communication) since 2015 and editorial direction of Polissema Journal since 2019.

Research expertise spans Terminology standardization, Technical Communication frameworks, and Technology-Assisted Learning systems. Her work integrates theoretical linguistics with practical applications in e-learning and international educational collaboration, evidenced by membership in the Technology-Assisted Learning Innovation Education & Lifelong Autonomy International Research Group.

Current research initiatives include the ENGood and Digital Incubator projects, while her role as Secretary of IPQ's Technical Committee 221 connects her work to national language policy. As Editor-in-chief of Polissema Journal and participant in international conference committees, she maintains active scholarly engagement across European academic networks.
