Univ.-Prof. Dr. Alexander Zerfaß is a Professor of Liturgics and Sacramental Theology at the Faculty of Catholic Theology, University of Salzburg. His academic work focuses on liturgical studies, sacramental theology, and the history of Christian worship, with 165 publications to his name.
His research interests include:
- Liturgical Studies and Reform
- Sacramental Theology, particularly regarding rites of healing
- Hymnology and liturgical music
- History of Latin liturgical manuscripts
