معرفی
Alexander Wright is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics, Engineering Physics, and Astronomy at Queen's University and a Continuing Research Scientist with the Institute of Particle Physics. His research focuses on experimental particle astrophysics, particularly neutrino physics, dark matter detection, and low background detector technologies. Wright leads roles in the SNO+ experiment and contributes to projects like DarkSide and Scintillating Bubble Chamber (SBC).
Education: PhD (Queen's University), BSc (Queen's University). His career includes postdoctoral work at Princeton University on the Borexino and DarkSide experiments. He collaborates with the Arthur B. McDonald Canadian Astroparticle Physics Institute and SNOLAB facilities in Sudbury, Ontario.
Research interests include solar neutrinos (7Be, pp, pep), neutrino oscillations, geoneutrinos, reactor antineutrinos, and searches for neutrinoless double beta decay. He develops advanced detectors to suppress backgrounds, such as liquid scintillator and argon-based systems. Wright's work addresses fundamental questions about neutrino properties, dark matter, and the Earth's interior composition.
Current projects include SNO+'s neutrino oscillation studies, SBC's low-threshold dark matter detection, and contributions to the DarkSide-20k detector. Supervision includes postdoctoral researchers like Serena Riccetto. Key affiliations include Queen's University's Particle Astrophysics Group and collaborations with international institutions like LNGS in Italy.
