Alexander Vasilescu serves as Part-Time Lecturer in Law at Columbia Law School, Columbia University, while concurrently holding the position of Regional Trial Counsel in the New York Office of the Enforcement Division at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) since 2005.
His professional focus centers on high-stakes securities enforcement, with expertise in:
- Complex financial fraud investigations including Ponzi schemes (Madoff, Foundation for New Era Philanthropy)
- Insider trading prosecutions (Billy Walters case)
- Regulatory violations (Regulation FD enforcement against AT&T)
