Alexander Niess is an Assistant Professor in the Finance and Accounting Academic Area at Rennes School of Business. He holds a Doctorate in Management from HEC Paris and a Research Master in Accounting and Management Control from University of Paris Dauphine. His teaching responsibilities include Management Control, Advanced Management Accounting, and Fundamentals of Management Accounting across various programmes.
Dr. Niess's research focuses on managerial incentives, organizational accountability, and capacity management systems in service sectors. He explores topics such as ethical decision-making in organizations, the role of aesthetics in leadership, and the dynamics of change initiatives. His work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical organizational challenges, emphasizing communicative institutionalism and temporal dynamics in ethical education.
He currently serves as Academic Head of Management & Organisation and Programme Director for the MSc in Creative Project Management, Culture & Design. His intellectual contributions include refereed articles in journals like Leadership and Journal of Organizational Change Management, alongside conference presentations at EGOS and the Academy of Management meetings.
