Alexander Loch

Prof. Dr. Alexander Loch is a Professor at Pforzheim University, specializing in intercultural competence development and migration research within the Faculty of Social Sciences. Since 2016, he has coordinated the Intercultural Skills (IKK) module and directed the Steinbeis Institute for Human Capacity Development.

• Education: Graduate psychologist and ethnologist; studied in Cologne and Kathmandu; doctorate in Heidelberg; postdoctoral research at EHESS (France); visiting scholar at Australian National University.

Research Areas: Focus on migration governance, cultural change, sustainable development cooperation, training methodologies, and intercultural competencies in post-migrant societies. His consulting emphasizes international personnel development, team-building, and conflict management.

Projects & Collaborations: Led third-party funded initiatives like DAAD's "Refugees WELCOME" and Baden-Württemberg-Stiftung's "Safe, Orderly & Regular Migration." Collaborated with Universitas Indonesia and AAA on public management in ASEAN. Previously worked with GIZ, UN, World Bank, and NGOs across Asia, Africa, and Europe.
